The “REAL”?Threat to Democracy, Part II

It has often been said that history is the best teacher. It would then hold true that failing to learn from history is to ignore its teachings and repeating the same mistakes again and again. It is believed that Albert Einstein once said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.”

Because we has failed to learn from the mistake of others, it seems that America is doomed to repeat the mistakes made by Israel. I have often written how ancient Israel faced grave danger when the hand of God’s protection was lifted from them because they had sacrificed their children through the fire to satisfy pagan gods. The result was utter devastation, as the nation of Israel was destroyed and their people were carried off into captivity. History does not tell us how many of their children were sacrificed in this manner but it is safe to imagine that it amounted to several hundred.?

Fast forward a few thousand years and we see parallels between Israel and the United States. As of this date more than 63 million of America’s children have been sacrificed on the altar of “this pregnancy is inconvenient.” America should have looked to history to learn how to avoid the calamity that Israel faced. Could a nation, could America, suffer a greater threat to its democracy, to its very existence, than having the hand of God’s protection being lifted resulting in America’s destruction??

Since the creation of America we have enjoyed the protection of Almighty God. We shook off the shackles of Great Britain and became an independent nation, dedicated to God. On February 29, 1892 the United States Supreme Court declared “This is a Christian nation.”?

Next, God’s hand of protection was with us when we finally rid ourselves of the shackles of slavery, a shame that haunted us since our first beginnings. We have come through two devastating world wars, and following the end of World War II instead of enslaving the nations of Germany and Japan we instead helped them rebuild to become thriving democracies.

But since that time we have gradually begun to turn our backs on God and declared Him persona non grata in our schools, in the public square, and in our national government. We have allowed ourselves to become a backslidden nation. The result was a warning and it came in the form of September 11, 2001 when our nation was attacked by Muslim extremists. Should America fail to heed this warning one could imagine that God’s hand of protection might be completely lifted from us, the consequences of which are unthinkable.

And who are those who are promoting “The REAL Threat to Democracy”? It is left-wing politicians, from members of the House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and the President of the United States who openly advocate abortion, even up to the final stages of pregnancy, otherwise known as late-term abortion when the infant is killed as it exits the birth canal, typically with scissors being jammed into the brain. It was Barack Obama who once brazenly stated that he would shut down the government before allowing the defunding of?Planned Parenthood. And President Joe Biden has declared that pro-life advocates are a “threat to democracy.”?These leaders continue to demonstrate they not only do not fear God, they have thumbed their noses at Him.

Next, let’s look into some of the underlying reasons that *Christians tend to be pro-life and advocate against abortion.?

Christians believe that we humans were created in the image of God, and when God created Adam and then Eve He told them to “be fruitful and multiply.” As to the fact that God created both Adam and Eve, it is equally amazing that He gave them and their offspring the ability to create new human beings. Think about it. This is a God-like quality that He gave to us humans. Since God Himself created human beings and those human beings were created in the image and likeness of God, it is equally amazing that He would grant humans the ability to create new human beings. This is a God-like quality that He gave to us humans. If that fact alone does not amaze you please check your pulse to see if you are living. It bears repeating that we have been given the right and the ability to create another human being. Let that one sink in.?

After having been given that amazing God-like gift, the ability to create new human beings, why would anyone be shocked to learn that God is angered by the very fact that human beings have defiled and trampled on that God-like quality??Since 1980, worldwide more than 1.520 billion people have destroyed in the womb the very life they were given the right to create in the first place.

Consider the “what ifs.” What if among those one thousand million, plus another 520 million, another Billy Graham, or another Reinhardt Bonnke, or another Jonas Salk, another Albert Einstein, or a Mother Theresa would have been born had their life not been snuffed out before they had a chance to life???

On a personal note, when I was 18 years old my girlfriend was pregnant. Once her father learned of this he gave us the option of going to Mexico (this was pre-Roe v. Wade) to have the child within her aborted. The “what-ifs” are staggering. Had we chosen that option my oldest daughter would never have been born, and three of my six grandsons and our great-granddaughter would have also never lived. Thankfully we chose life.

Christianity was, from the beginning, intended to be supernatural, but in too many instances it is now nothing more than an institution. So please understand that not all “Christians” have experienced this new birth and became a new creation.?
