Share with us your first business experience

My first business experience was an internship at the 3rd year of University in 2014, for the Dutch-based construction company Ballast Nedam, which has existed on the market since 1877. During the 6 months I spent with the Ballast Nedam team, I gained my first practical experience and worked on a very important project of a Rotterdam hospital which is still under construction. After that experience, I got my first full-time job at Suitsupply company where I held the position of Store Developer for over 2 years.

Describe the APS from your point of view

APS is a young team with?lots of potential, made up of ambitious people who really strive and work for success.

Which trait is crucial for success?

If I should mark one trait that is crucial for success, it is selflessness. Selfless sharing of knowledge, and investing time in someone, certainly comes back. Selflessness is a characteristic of truly successful, fulfilled, and happy people.

Do you prefer team or individual work, and why?

Teamwork, definitely! I think that if a situation is viewed from different perspectives, it's easier to find the best solution.

Describe your behavior in situations when you have to work with someone whose personality is different from yours

In those situations, it's very important to try to understand the other side as well. A personality is important, but not crucial in a professional relationship. As long as everyone fulfills their responsibilities, it will work.

What does a typical Commercial Director's day look like?

A typical Commercial Director's day begins with a cup of coffee and a meeting with the sales team. During that meeting, we summarize what was done before, and of course, make a plan for the next steps. A meeting can last a few minutes, but sometimes those minutes turn into hours. The rest of the working day is impossible to predict because we are in constant communication with clients, unforeseen situations happen very often, and we need to coordinate that at the given moment.

The biggest challenge in your business is?

The biggest challenge is coordinating and improving the sales team. It is a great challenge and responsibility that we work hard on every day and we plan to continue to do so in the future.

What inspires you?

The young ambitious people I work with are my biggest inspiration. Every morning I go to work fulfilled and happy because I know that such a team is waiting for me in the office.

Leaving a good impression is key, what is your approach in those situations?

Before every meeting I do a very good preparation in which I try to gather as much information as possible about the client and project. This leaves a very positive impression on the client and creates an image of a professional approach. The first impression that the clients get at the first meeting is very important, and the way of presenting the services also contributes to that. As long as the client's wishes and needs are listened to, a good impression is guaranteed.

The most important lesson you learned in the past?

As someone who has always been considered an ambitious person, from excessive ambitions, desires, plans, I often knew how to get lost in them. I started a lot of work that would eventually be partially completed and that certainly didn't bring long-term success. Then I realized that I can't do everything at once and that it's better to be focused and go step by step. Real things just take time and everything ends up just the way it should.

What would you say to your younger self?

Maybe to live and enjoy the moment more and to use the time and opportunities in front of me in the best possible way. Some things in the past I did quite superficially and now I am very sorry about that. Somewhere in the world there is a place that is waiting just for you, it's just a matter of time.
