Real Talk: Body Images and Eating Disorders - Breaking the Cycle

Please join us in Seattle! https://thecustomplate.com/products/real-talk-body-images-and-eating-disorders-breaking-the-cycle

Join SweatNET, The Custom Plate, Karla Ilicic, and Dr. Brook Weitz for our first session of Real Talk about eating disorders and body image issues.

Eating disorders can be hard to detect as there's no one-size-fits-all and tackling the issue from a bio-individual standpoint is crucial when trying to change it all around. This panel discussion will allow participants to hear personal stories of pain and triumph when it comes to body image and eating disorders.

From this discussion you will be able to learn and takeaway the following:

  • The how and why behind each individual's experience
  • Where they were at their lowest point
  • How they were able to break the cycle
  • Helpful resources

Overview of the evening:

6:00p: Doors Open

6:00pm-6:45pm: Food and Mingle

6:45-8:00: Panel Discussion

8:00pm-9:00pm: Participants can voluntarily share their stories

Karla Ilicic

Karla is a certified nutritionist, yoga teacher, and an overall wellness coach with 10 years of international experience. Her clientele is very diverse as she's worked with professional athletes (Seahawks, tennis players, rowers), dancers, yoga practitioners, people with autoimmune disease (especially celiac disease, SIBO, Crohn, Hashimoto, diabetes), and a lot of people with corporate - sedentary jobs.

Her passion lies in helping others not only eat healthier meals but implement good eating habits, find a great relationship with food & achieve a balanced lifestyle. She believes that the only diet and lifestyle that's worth creating is the one you can stick to, so she aims to find what that means for each and every individual. Superfoods and super herbs are her specialties, as she strongly believes they are the building blocks of a healthy & happy microbiome, so she always includes an educational section in her sessions. Teaching WHY we eat, and not only WHAT we eat, is the premise of her approach.
