Like many businesses, I want my prospects to book a call with me to discuss their needs and to explore how my expertise can help them get ahead. It's often the start of a very useful sales or even business conversation.
Like many businesses, we have a "Book A Call" button on our website, on our social media profiles, and on our outbound marketing material. It's one of our Calls To Action (CTA).
Speaking to other business owners, it seems that we all have this same kind of CTA.
And we all share a similar problem: NO ONE CLICKS ON IT!
Why don't they?

Your sales prospects don't click on your button because they carry two specific fears.

1. Fear Of Being Hounded
Your sales prospects fear that, once they hand over their contact details, they will be hounded by salespeople, even when they are not yet ready to buy and they're just looking for more information.
Let's face it, that fear is pretty real.
A business owner contact of mine told me that he filled in a software vendor's "Contact Us" form, as he was looking to learn whether this vendor had a good solution for him. Since completing this form he was inundated with more than 20 phone calls and 16 emails from breathless salespeople desperate to make a sale. All in the space of just 2 weeks!
This has turned him off speaking to this vendor altogether.
We all have experienced being pestered by over-eager salespeople, right?
It's the same for your prospects.

Because of that knowledge gap they are concerned that their comparative ignorance may lead them to inadvertently ask dumb questions that may make them look stupid.
No one likes looking stupid.
Of course, this is an unwarranted fear, because you wouldn't give your prospects that kind of negative experience, right?
But still, it's human nature to have this concern. So their avoidance instinct makes them prefer not to click on your button.

5 个月Attending conferences I see 40% of professionals registering with a personal Gmail/Yahoo/Hotmail accounts exactly to avoid the first issue mentioned. I operate a dedicated email address when reaching out to vendors to prevent being spammed. Good on you to train sales people towards better behaviour, Peter!
