Will the real product stand up?

Product photography and personal branding photography have much in common. 

Let us look at the similarities in both cases.

The images need to capture the attention of your audience immediately.

The images need to be something your audience is familiar with.

The images need to speak the language of your audience.


If you were looking to target people that wanted to build their own computers, the

image above would get their attention.

If you were building a personal brand as someone who gives advice on building your own

computer, you could capture an image of you holding this motherboard. 


See the difference? In personal branding photography, you are the product that is being

sold. You are using images of yourself to build trust with your audience. You

want them to see you as the authority in the area that you have chosen to brand

yourself towards.


Personal branding photography goes far beyond the studio headshot. The goal of the images

is to show you in everyday situations that will make your audience know, like and trust you.

In personal brand photography you are the real product.  So, stand up and find ways to incorporate your audience’s interests within your images.
