The REAL meaning of Christmas
Volunteers are working to make Christmas special for families. Dr. Barbara J Williams (Program director at Safe Kids Now) and many volunteers at Kingdom Builders Church in Oakland, CA are working together to serve the community. They have housing for recovering drug abusers and classes. They go door-to-door helping neighbors connect through the adopt-a block program. Youth have an opportunity to share at "teen talk" and their community outreach programs strengthen families. Every Thursday the church offers fresh fruits and vegetables to their low income neighbors. Volunteers say, "I feel good helping others."
Churches are changing our cities!! Every human being is valuable and deserve a helping hand and respect. (The government can NOT do it for us) When citizens get involved, they set a good example for children and make Christmas and every day safer and healthier for families! Isn't that what Christmas is all about?
