Real Life Matters, Wikipedia and AI… & Online Marketing

Real life connections are going to matter more than ever in the next two years.?As AI tools improve, people are going to be increasingly skeptical of online-only relationships.?
Fall is conference season for us.?We're trying to over-index on attending/speaking/exhibiting at conferences, and in general connecting in-person.?With a mix of conferences, dinners and happy hours, I've really enjoyed getting to connect and reconnect with people.?
Some notes from what I've been hearing (with a nod to Puck for the idea):
AI thoughts and fears - We're seeing more integration of AI tools into business-critical plans vs six month ago, when more attention was on the "fun hacks" side of things.?Klarna using AI to replace Salesforce ?is the public face of this (and there's probably an element of investor-signaling going on here),?but it shows a trend.?There's definitely a fear from marketing folks that AI is being used to justify cutting huge swaths of teams, similar to the way that?Amazon's RTO policy is seen as a method of stealth layoffs.
Google results are a big concern -?The pace of change is the highest it's ever been with new search features being rolled into results very quickly.?In addition, Google is dealing with a variety of antitrust woes ?and it's always hard to tell which direction a big company will go when dealing with those sorts of systemic issues.?Especially, and ironically, if you're the company that organizes the world's information, and?you've been dinged for deleting a bunch of?employee chats.
Wikipedia - We've done some original research on Wikipedia and Fortune 1000 companies and we're seeing more interest than ever in making sure that information is showing up correctly.?The new AI models use Wikipedia as a source because it is a trusted provider of content?(and amusingly, it's got editors doing a good job of weeding out AI generated content).??
Uncertainty?- It seems to be everywhere.?Between hurricanes, elections, and job uncertainty, it's a lot to navigate.?Interestingly, while six months ago, it seemed like companies were hesitant to do anything at all, new initiatives have started to move forward.

How Google Uses Wikipedia to Improve Search Results
Wikipedia doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Its influence is felt across the internet, most notably on Google’s first page.?Here’s a look at how the world’s most famous online encyclopedia affects the search results that companies and individuals are dying to dominate.

When I was a kid I had it all wrong
Thought I was a man until a boy came along
And I stayed on the playground of that very day
When I learned who I'm drawn to could draw them away
Sit up straight and maybe you won't have to tell them
And grow up learning how to be a different person
Convince yourself it'll be enough to marry someone you don't love
And build a family on a lie to keep the family line
So you sit, half as whole
A stranger at the dinner table
It's like watching the TV from inside the show
And playing a character that nobody knows they wrote
What's a joke if they don't know that it's you thеy're laughing about?
And then they ask why you'rе quiet when their hand's over your mouth
Pack the bags
This time I am heading north
Left the racks
I won’t need those where I’m going
Count the stacks
Dodging cops 'cause nobody here wants a bind

Toke a pack
Calling shots pretend all the while that you’re mine
And I'm always thinking of you
Always thinking I could love you more
Know I'm always thinking of you
Always thinking I could love you more
In your ribs, I see more than bones
Something lost, I had long ago
All the words are meaning so much more
As you say them without a clause
Now I'm letting all you in
You caught me falling
Now I'm letting all you in
You caught me falling
In white water, an open hand
You found my wreck in pieces there
And all my resin glowing red
Could turn to amber, I will still be there
You're not the street that you're born to
You're not the arms that hold you
You've got two feet to ten toes
But you don't know what you don't know
Some go high
Some go low
Keep in mind
The places you'll go
'Cause some get high
And some follow
So keep in mind
Keep in mind
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
The places you'll go
Honey, come over
The party's gone slower
And no one will tempt you
We know you got sober
There's orange juice in the kitchen
Bought for the children
It's yours if you want it
We're just glad you could visit
Feels like I've been ready for you
To come home for so long
That I didn't think to ask you
Where you'd gone, why'd you go?
And you said, "Mhm, mm-mm"
And you said
