The Real Journey to Consciousness: Beyond Fear, Greed, and Lust
Have you ever noticed how some people seem to be on an endless quest for happiness, yet they never appear to find it? This endless pursuit often leads to a paradox where the more they chase happiness, the more it seems to elude them.
They're stuck in what I call the FGL cycle – fear, greed, and lust. Driven by a desire to win, feel secure, or prove themselves, their lives revolve around accumulating wealth and popularity, and staying in the right circles. They're always looking for shortcuts to success, driven by a desire to win at all costs, to feel secure, or to prove themselves. This is their life's fuel. Accumulating wealth, popularity, and rubbing shoulders with the 'right' crowd.
Yet, these FGL-driven individuals often fail to understand those who seek true consciousness, those who aim to truly know themselves. Some of you have shared with me how you've faced cutting remarks or felt isolated by old friends when you started this journey. This happens because FGL types often fear what they don't understand. And mock what they fear – it is their unconscious’ survival instinct taking over and trying to chase away the light of consciousness.

But what is consciousness? Often in books, you see a deeply content person meditating under a tree, cut off from all worldly ties. But that is misleading. Consciousness isn’t about contentment. It’s a state of active discontent. Conscious people are actively discontented seekers. They live in the real world, acknowledging and accepting life's difficult truths. Driven by a quest for answers that cannot be ignored, they continually seek deeper understanding and clarity.
Those on a journey towards consciousness are not the ones to hide behind their wealth, health, or fame. They are the bold explorers who dare to delve deep into the meaning of life itself. These individuals understand that despite all of life's material gains, the human experience is filled with ongoing challenges. They choose to look beyond temporary joys, seeking a deeper, more meaningful source of fulfilment - a place free from suffering and strife, where inner peace reigns supreme.
Consciousness seekers are driven by a restlessness for truth, not content with living in illusions. They bravely confront life's toughest questions and relentlessly pursue answers that can't be ignored or silenced. They neither resort to numbing their existential queries with substances nor lose themselves in the haze of intoxication. Nor do they rely solely on scholarly texts, scientific theories, or traditional doctrines to validate their beliefs. In short, they don't numb their doubts with distractions or lose themselves in debates or traditions. They seek. Their quest for understanding transcends conventional wisdom. These seekers of consciousness are always questioning, always growing. They’re on a relentless pursuit of truth, not stopping until they find the answers they seek.
