The terms “diversity” and “inclusion” are often lumped together and assumed to mean the?same?thing. Though these terms are?related?and usually used in the same context, it is important to understand the?difference?between them.?Simply put,?diversity?is about differences.?Inclusion?is about embracing those differences.?
Diversity?is often used in the context of?hiring?diverse employees. But what do you do once you get people who are different into your company??This is when?inclusion?comes in. Inclusion is the deliberate action aimed at creating a workplace culture where all differences are welcomed, accepted and appreciated.?In other words, it is not enough just to give diverse groups a?seat?at the table. You should also give them a?voice?and listen to them.?
Workplace diversity is?more?than just the right thing to do in the moral, politically correct sense. Fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace has a direct and tangible effect on your company’s?bottom line. Diversity and inclusion, which?are the real grounds for creativity, must remain at the center of what we do. Companies with a diverse workforce and inclusive workplace?outperform?its competitors and achieve?greater profits.
Our future will lie not in making 'artificial intelligences' more intelligent, but in making our human intelligences more intelligent, in synergy with all the other new forms of intelligence that we are creating, with technology, and in harmony with all the intelligences that have always been present in nature and on our planet, which we must protect.?
We should not fear artificial intelligence but natural stupidity, the real threat in the management of intelligences.... as an example: from the analysis of the data of the majority of the western companies we can see that in the scale of the managerial values unfortunately emerge mostly men, also largely white. The reported algorithm, as a result, immediately would learn that it is "intelligent" to hire and/or promote white men, because it sees in the company's data that they are the most successful. It's up to us (humans), with our very human intelligence, to be fair to enter the algorithm and say that gender, rather than skin color, should not be considered when deciding who to promote and who to hire... it's up to us to make it fair, and that's why I talk about natural stupidity, for those who might not perhaps use AI for the good of society, all of us, and the planet.?
By simulating intelligent behaviors, AI can help change the way we work and reduce trends and prejudices that undermine organizations’ ability to recruit diversely and inclusively while unconscious in human thinking. AI, unlike humans, do not have an innate predisposition to let their personal experiences, opinions, and beliefs influence their decisions. On the other hand, AI is based on data and algorithms created by the people who created them.

For instance, AI tools can also automatically review the job posting texts, detect language commonly associated with preconceived notions of gender, age, and ethnicity, and make suggestions to correct these terms and make the ad more appealing to a broader audience range of candidates.
Also, proper use of AI can help minimize prejudice throughout the worker’s life cycle; for example, at the level of career advancement and employee compensation, AI can detect potential situations of discrimination between different groups of workers and provide data and reports that help HR professionals make decisions.
If correctly designed and applied through multidisciplinary teams, AI will detect situations of potential bias and prejudice in decision-making — particularly those that become more difficult to detect unintentionally — and alert us... humans.
