The Real Impact of Negative Comments on Your Ad Success: “To Delete or Not Delete? That is the question”
How should we handle negative feedback??
Should we delete those irritating comments??
What if some of them are expressing hate and nonsense??
If you run ads, you might get some bad comments.?
Don’t worry. You are not alone.
We are all in the same boat.?
Should you delete them??
Hmmm…
If you ask me, the simple answer should be: NO!?
But also, if you know me...you know the answer is never simple.
"What if the remarks are really bad?" You might ask.
Let’s jump into philosophy for a second…
Ask yourself…what does “really bad” mean??
Why do you consider it bad??
We all invest time, money, and energy into our businesses.?
I’m sure it’s not easy for you to handle every difficult aspect of your business.?
And the moment you start showing your offer to the world…
After so much effort….
Booooom…haters show up with their annoying comments.?
Don’t fall into the trap we used to fall in many times.?
First of all, NEVER take what they say personally!?
As hard as it might be…try to read them objectively.?
And while reading and rereading…
Don’t take the option to delete them into consideration.?
Or even worse…
Don’t fall into the trap of changing instantly the creatives.?
Especially if the ads are doing well.?
And only a small part of the comments are negative.?
Don’t throw away all your or your team's work.?
Never doubt your work if the outcome is as desired.?
I can bet you are not running a business to get lovely comments.?
If you invest money in ads...you want more money back.
And I’m sure you’re already aware that comments help every post/ad to reach more people.?
Even the bad comments…actually, nasty comments are more helpful than positive ones.?
In an online world where AI is at every corner…

Am I too dramatic here??
Maybe… :)?
So here are some ideas:?
Example:?
Comment: “Is your product made out of gold, why is it so expensive?”?
Response: “No, it isn’t, but that’s a great idea. We’ll definitely think about it and give it a try”?
Example:?
Comment: “This is a scam. I will never buy from you.”
Response: “What makes you say this? We have over X amount of happy customers with over X number of reviews”?
Example:?
Comment: “The product doesn’t look as good as in the pictures”
Response: “Here is an unedited video of the product we took with the phone a few minutes ago”?
Find the tone of your voice and use it in the comments. Why not being authentic??
Try not to avoid the comments. Of course, if the comments reflect reality, find the problem and solve it as quickly as possible.?
Then return to the negative comment and say thanks + inform it was solved.?
Don’t pretend! Do it!?
Will branding be affected by the negative comments??
I don’t know. I’m not a branding expert…
Back to philosophy…
What is a brand these days??
I wrote here about paid ads.?
I assume don’t run paid ads to receive love in the comments.?
You run ads to generate sales.?
And, if possible, generate profitable sales.?
After that…after getting the desired control over the sales you generate…
You can think about building a brand.?
Should paid ads generate brand awareness??
In my opinion…
STOP.
I’m tempted to talk a lot.?
Same thing when writing.?
