Real or Fake? Respect

I disregard the suggestions of who to connect with on the side of my profile. The failure of "Similar Profiles" is I have not connected with anyone who was arbitrarily declared "Similar" to me.

Some of them never responded to my comments. Why in the world would I connect with someone like that? Underneath this group is suggestions from my company. I work in a large company and if they have not gone through my building, I probably don't know them.

I recognized one supervisor. He has no headline. Chances are he barely uses this site and he is the one who went to a Monday Night Football game and came straight to work in our peak period. That's quite a claim to fame.

He must have been wrecked when he finally went home. Adrenaline only takes you so far. Classically I do not consider connecting with someone who has no profile picture or headline.

I could make an exception for Smoky MF'ing Jones. He spells out the twelve letter word. How's that for personal branding? I did not view his profile. With a name like that- he won't be forgotten.

Smoky Jones is a memorable enough name. He might have a smokey complexion. That is how William Robinson received that nickname. It is interesting how this is supposed to be the serious social media site. They talk about relationships and one billion accounts.

The fact LinkedIn suggested I connect with Smoky MFer Jones (he presents it like it is his entire surname, not a nickname.) makes me wonder what would happen if I were to connect. I don't work with him.

What if a woman calls herself "Smoky"? Only you can prevent fake profiles. I see no reason to report it because it is a suggestion. If I were to tag him- for whatever reason, it is harsher reading cuss words than it is hearing them. One woman had the S word in her headline. Even if she knew "S***loads" about LinkedIn- that makes it sound like diapers that need changing.

Chances are you will have to change the entire outfit. As such, dirty diapers are not the image someone knowledgeable on LinkedIn should conjure. If these are my suggestions- what am I supposed to do?

I cannot say if Smoky would be a good connection. With no picture or headline- do you need a headline with a nickname or incorporated name like that? The name jumps off the page. Just my luck he would give an MF ing recommendation.
