A marketing campaign, in simple terms, is a plan of action in order to achieve a marketing goal of a company. This goal could be anything from increasing awareness about the product or service to driving new revenue.?
Whenever someone talks about creative marketing campaigns, there are two prominent ones that immediately stand out.
Zomato - for increasing service awareness
Amul - for making their product a household name
A few years ago, Zomato opted for a very creative marketing campaign in which they used to hang a small sign stating in bold font letters “We’ve got the key” on door handles. When this was launched, it took people by surprise, especially students and people who stay alone.
The sign was similar to a “Do not disturb sign” prominently seen in hotels and was red in color. Any sane person would first check for their keys because nowhere on the sign did they mention the company’s name.?
The twist came when one turned it around. Under the aforesaid message, they mention, in very small font, “for your hunger”! So, the whole sign read “We’ve got the key for your hunger!” If this isn’t an attention grabber then I don’t know whatever will be. The creative mind behind this campaign should definitely receive a raise.
What really made the campaign successful was how well it was executed. Gone are the days when people hold on to pamphlets and brochures in case of need. The best way to make an impression is to make something that people will find extremely hard to let go of.

The message on those signs wasn't the only driving factor. The target market was actually amused by the whole idea and even kept the signs rather than throwing it away.
The second ad campaign is Amul.
All of us have nostalgic feelings associated with the blue-colored milk pouches and the "Amul Girl", as she is prominently known as, holding a piece of bread completely smothered with butter.?
The thing that really drives an ad campaign is how well they are able to keep up with what's in the current rage. Amul ads are notorious for exactly that.?
Every day they reserve a top corner of newspapers like "Times of India" and "The Telegraph", which in itself is an ample amount of coverage. But they step up even more. They produce witty and contemporary slogans, mentioning anything and everything that is in rage currently.
Going with the upcoming release of Bunty and Babli, they paid tribute to the movie as well as to one of the most mainstream snack combinations, Bun and Chai, by piecing together a slogan: "Bun Tea? Aur Butterly! "
These two definitely take it home when it comes to branding their names in the minds of their consumer as well as non-consumer.
