Real Estate Nightmares Avoided: Part 147 ??????

Not only did the flipper own the home, but also the real estate brokerage, the escrow company, the home warranty company--basically every service provider involved in the transaction except those hired directly by the buyer (us and the home inspectors).

The remodel was quality. But when we got the title insurance policy, there was a huge problem.

They were trying to avoid coverage for any claim made by the previous owner that he was wrongfully foreclosed. This is the MOST LIKELY claim to be brought against the title of this house.

I demanded that the title company remove the bogus exclusions to coverage, and they did.

The thing is, very few real estate agents review or understand title insurance policies.
