1. The Money Pit

This 1986 comedy stars Tom Hanks and Shelley Long as they struggle through the renovation of their new home. It is a fun, if somewhat frustrating, movie where everything just seems to keep going wrong!

2. Glengarry Glen Ross

This 1992 drama is about the lives of four real estate salesmen and their professional competition to be the best after hearing that two salesmen will be getting fired in one week. The film stars Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin, and Ed Harris.

This 1990 thriller stars Melanie Griffith, Matthew Modine, and Michael Keaton. When a couple purchases a house in the Pacific Heights neighborhood, they have no idea what kind of tenant issues will soon arise.

4. The Big Short

This 2015 film stars Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, and Brad Pitt. It is a biographical comedy-drama that depicts the impact of the US housing bubble on the 2007 financial crisis.

5. Father Of The Bride Part II

This 1991 romantic comedy stars Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, and Martin Short. When George Banks’s eldest daughter announces that she and her husband are expecting a baby, he begins to spiral because he is convinced that he’s too young to be a grandfather. He dyes his hair, begins working out, and sells his family’s home without consulting his wife. But nothing could prepare him for his wife’s shocking news…

6. Beetlejuice

This 1988 comedy was directed by Tim Burton and stars Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton, and Catherine O’Hara. When a family moves into the home of a recently deceased couple, they soon find themselves haunted by the original owners…

Beetlejuice. That house is pretty amazing. The Maitlands are renovating the house in the beginning, then it gets renovated by the Deetz, and then back to the original at the end of the movie. Plus, the Maitlands are relegated to the house throughout most of the movie, AND Beetlejuice 2 comes out this fall!
