Real
David Amerland ????
Latest book: Built To Last - A science-backed formula to help you stay fit and healthy at any age.
What if ...
- The persona you have at work was the exact same one (with some tiny differences for context) that you have at home?
- What you said aligned with what you thought?
- Your actions were guided by your values?
- You were you. Everywhere.
Ask yourself why this is just a thought experiment.
Consider carefully the impact being real, everywhere, has on everything else and everyone else.
What if this hypothetical was actually real?
How much different would everything then be?

9 个月How interesting, I've been thinking about this very topic since last week - when I went to a business thing and tried to "look normal". Instant discomfort! So I'm leaning back towards being my unique self, even if that's unusual or even weird to some. At least it'll be clear who I am!

9 个月Authenticity is everything, even if a person maybe disagreeable & genuinely difficult I respect them for being genuine. I always feel uncomfortable with those that act as somebody else (working with younger people or those who are vulnerable is different, they may hold back because of lack of confidence, the difference in the two things is striking). Everyone close to me is authentic & that fits with my values & integrity, it breeds trust & confidence. Authentic people have the courage to be vulnerable (we all have imperfections but genuine individuals aren’t uncomfortable with this). It means forging deeper connections & sharing genuine empathy & understanding. We’re free to embrace our uniqueness & show our passions & talents. “Genuine†is everything to me. Thanks for making me think David.
