The real cost of applying for jobs online

Are you actively looking for a new job??
If so, you’ve seen hundreds (if not thousands) of applicants for most job posts. It’s pretty crazy!
At a high level, it shows us 3 things.
Here’s the #1 advice I share with every job seeker I talk to: stop applying online!?
Even if you’re qualified, you may get an automated rejection or never hear back, which is a very common occurrence. It’s frustrating and even worse, it makes you feel bad about yourself.
Getting multiple rejections makes you question your worth and competency. The more rejections you get, the more it breaks down your confidence.?
You start thinking you don’t have enough or the right experience. Or that you need to deepen your expertise, hone a skill or get certified in something before you are ready to continue the job search.
The constant limiting beliefs keep running through your mind because of the circumstances – exacerbating your belief that you can’t get a job, not to mention a dream job. If you can’t stop these negative thoughts from swirling through your mind, you’re at higher risk of creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Of course, applying online doesn’t mean you’ll never get an interview. You may get an interview from time to time, but it won’t be very often, and most importantly, it may not be the right role for you. I can’t say it often enough – the process is broken and has nothing to do with you.
In fact, over 75% of applications are automatically filtered out and never reviewed by humans. It just doesn’t work!
The good news is you can break this vicious cycle by networking strategically.?
If networking sounds scary or intimidating, you’re not alone. Many of our clients have trepidation when they get to the networking stage of their job search journey.?
But once they start, they quickly gain traction, surface opportunities and secure interviews with their target companies.
I feel so passionate about this topic that I’ve decided to host a webinar.?
I want to show you how to stand out and cut through the massive number of applications.?
