Ready, set, write!

Ready, set, write!

The book,?Atomic Habits, is all the rage. When James Clear released is in 2018, I read it.?Thrice.?(It is excellent . . . suggest the physical version and the audiobook. #nerdalert)

I'm viewing these emails as a journey, and this journey to?building an empire?starts with the first steps (some of which we covered last week: deciding what you want, putting action items on your calendar, and getting your ducks in order), will lead to making some serious progress.

There are some who advise to?not?set goals, but to just focus on habits. Seems to me we need an end result in order to know which habits to choose, no?

Yes.

So let's talk habits. Meaning, those you need to define, calendar, and do.

What are they? If you've been around a minute, you know a few of mine (write every day, workout every day, drink a lot of water). I've got a new one for 2023: choosing to make the healthiest choice possible 95.23% of the time (20 out of 21 meals a week). One meal I can eat the pizza and the cookie. Why not? I'm choosing this habit because I feel better when I eat better. I write better. I workout better, sleep better, and?stick to my other habits better.

Another new one: write 500 words of fiction every day.?No matter what.?I'm still writing non-fiction with two a.m. pomodoros. New habit and I'm ready to look back six months from now really proud of myself for writing--and publishing--my first fiction! Note: these words don't have to be written in the morning, in fact, they probably won't be.

What's a habit you want to choose to move you in the right direction?

P.S. Thanks for reading and all of your amazing reply emails. I freaking love them! Keep 'em coming!
