Ready to Say Farewell to Facebook? Here's How!
Wes Kriesel
Integrating AI in education with a focus on human-centering approaches and innovation.
Ready to bid farewell to Facebook? It's not as easy as you might think. I'm 2 days away from the end of the mandatory 30 day waiting period. Here's your concise guide to a clean exit (thanks, Perplexity - and the check the parantheticals at the end of the lines as these are hyperlinks to other sources!):
Transfer Page Ownership
Download Your Data
Delete Your Account
Remember, deletion takes 30 days to finalize. Until then, you can still change your mind - or forget and accidentally log back in, which removes the deletion request, meaning you have to start all over. (PCMag) Once complete, your digital declutter is done!

3 周I left Facebook about 10 years ago! Instagram has been about 7 years and I just deleted my X account. So much happier and less distracted for sure! Just have LinkedIn now. Do it!

3 周This is so cool. Hadn’t thought about using AI to analyse my Facebook story. I’m also not on any socials except here and it is the best feeling, which says a lot about the nuanced and deliberate way that social media extracts our attention and creates isolated worlds for us to live in (without us designing these worlds yet feeling at home in them). Like toads in hot boiling temperate, one doesn’t feel the temperature rising until one leaves or gets burned.
