Ready to Let Go
Every year Martín's parents
they took him with his grandmother
to spend the summer holidays,
and they returned home
on the same train the next day.
One day the boy told his parents:
"I'm already big
Can I go to my grandmother's house alone? "
After a short discussion
the parents accepted.
They are standing waiting for the train to depart,
they say goodbye to their son giving him
some advice out the window,
while Martín repeated to them:
"I know!
They have told me more than a thousand times. "
The train is about to leave
and his dad whispered in his ears:
"Son, if you feel bad or insecure,
this is for you!".
And put something in his pocket.
Now Martin is alone
sitting on the train just as I wanted,
without their parents for the first time.
Admire the landscape through the window,
around him strangers jostle,
they make a lot of noise,
they get in and out of the wagon.
The supervisor makes some comments
About being alone
One person looked at him with sad eyes.
Martin now feels bad
every minute that passes.
And now he is afraid.
Lower your head ...
feels cornered and alone,
with tears in the eyes.
So remember your dad
put something in his pocket,
trembling, he looks for what his father put on him.
Finding the piece of paper he read it,
on it is written:
"Son, I'm in the last car!"
This is life,
we must let go of our children,
we must trust them.
But we always have to be
in the last car, watching,
in case they are afraid or in case they find
obstacles and don't know what to do.
We have to be close to them
as long as we are still alive,
the son will always need his parents.
Forever in the last car
