Time is often said to be our most precious asset.
But what use is having time available when you have very little energy?
Yup. Not much use at all.
So in addition to carefully managing your time, you also want to manage your energy.
I often have my clients keep an energy diary for a while, so they can learn where the biggest boosts and drains in their lives reside.
But here's a quick and handy hack to regain some of this much-needed resource: go on a guilt trip through your house or office.
Warning: doing this will not be fun - but the results will be pretty valuable.
I want you to set a timer for 10 minutes and then wander through your space, taking pictures of things that fill you with negative emotions like dread, shame, guilt, exhaustion, etc.
It could be something you wanted to fix five years ago.
It could be a pile of bills lying in a corner.
It could be something you borrowed and never returned.
What we're looking for here is a quick inventory of the low-hanging messes in your life.
The big energy sucks that you need to make a decision on.
Once the 10 minutes are up, you get to play Tinder with your pictures.

It's decision time.
With every picture, you get these two options:
Your brain will have many objections to this, and that's OK.
Ignore it.
If it's something that really can't get done today, but that you do want to do, get it on the calendar and get accountability from a partner, friend or colleague.
Spend those 10 minutes.
Make some decisions.
Clean up your mess.
Notice how you regain a shit ton of energy.
Have a beautiful weekend,

P.S. This Monday, I'm launching a coaching community for fast-brained humans who want to work on Big Things. We have room for a couple more: if this is something you want, go to https://www.coachkramer.org/shamelessly-smart to get all the details.
