Reading about myself

Reading about myself

A few ways I could do that:

  • Write about myself, then read what I wrote: boring!
  • Pay someone to write about me: expensive and uninteresting!
  • Read something someone wrote about people with whom I identify: fascinating!

I know that I am not unique.

Many people share my habits, interests, skills and quirks.

Sadly, I don't know those people yet.

Thankfully, professional interviewers, psychologists, sociologists, researchers and authors do.

Even better, they pay editors and publish compilations of their work into compelling stories and self-help books.

I read one over half a decade ago.

It was a story about the work I did at the time.

A gripping novel that made me reflect and reconsider the work I was doing.

I'm reading others now.

They're equally enlightening.

It's exhilarating to compare myself to the people and personas described in these books.

My goal is to recognize my strengths and weaknesses, and change some of my habits.

Still to come:

  • More reading
  • More reflecting
  • More reconsidering
  • More readjusting
  • For a more rewarding life
