Reading list suggestion
Dear network,
I hope everyone is doing well. As I am sure most of you are confined at home and (just like me) might need a little inspiration to kill a few hours; I have put together a list of 10 books I have read that I would highly recommend. Obviously, most of them are finance related. I hope you have the chance to go through some of them and enjoy the read!
- Billion dollar Whale: The man who fooled Wall Street, Hollywood, and the World (This is story of the 1MBD scandal with Goldman Sachs and the Malaysian government)
- Lucifer's Banker: The untold story of how I destroyed Swiss Bank Secrecy
- When Genius Failed: The Rise and Fall of Long Term Capital Management
- Bargaining for Advantage: Negotiation Strategies for Reasonable People
5. Black Edge: Inside Information, Dirty Money, and the quest to bring down the most wanted man on Wall Street (this is the story of billionaire hedge fund manager Steven Cohen)
6. A Colossal Failure of Common Sense: The Inside Story of the Collapse of Lehman Brothers (About the 2008 financial crisis/Lehman's collapse)
7. The Fix: How bankers lied, cheated and colluded to rig the world's most important number (this is the story of the LIBOR rigging scandal back in 2012)
8. The Art of Negotiation: How to improvise Agreement in a Chaotic world (The author is a well-known Harvard Business School Professor in Negotiation)
9. Secrecy World: Inside the Panama Papers investigation of illicit money networks and the global elite (this is about the Mossack Fonseca scandal in 2016. They also released a movie based on this book in 2019 starring Meryl Streep. It's called The Laundromat (the book is better than the movie).
10. Adaptive Markets: Financial Evolution at the Speed of Thought
