Reading list CY2023 to date

I constantly try to make time to read books, and I would be lying if I said I find it easy. I am sharing my recent reading list to inspire you to make time for reading too...

Extreme Privacy - Michael Bazzell 4th Edition. It is thought-provoking to understand the lengths needed to become digitally invisible. Some strong advice that I took onboard.

The Mountain is You - Brianna Wiest. I was struggling to move forward and felt like I was sabotaging myself at times. This book helped me unblock and take a deeper look at my motivations. Needs a re-read for sure.

The Rise or Fall of South Africa - Frans Conje. I read this in Cape Town over the summer—a sobering analysis of the current situation with common-sense advice on what to do.

How to talk to anyone - Liel Lowndes. This was valuable. As a signed-up member of the "INTP Myers Briggs team", I find it very difficult to reach out. This book helped. Speaking to people doesn't come naturally to me!

Cederberg Rock Art - Peter Slingsby. In the 80's, I found a cave painting in the Koue Bokkeveld. It was registered as a discovery with the South African National Archive. Unfortunately, I have been unable to uncover the listing at the archive or the slide we took of the painting. I will keep searching! This short book gave insights into the paintings across the Cederberg.

The Changing World Order - Ray Dalio. An interesting geopolitical analysis of the world order over the last 500 years, focusing on what supports the global reserve currency. The times they are a-changing!

A Statin Nation - Malcolm Kendrick. An excellent commentary on the risks/benefits of taking long-term statins for high cholesterol. It helped me make my final decision.

Joernaal van Jorik - DJ Opperman. I often re-read this epic poem. It was my Afrikaans set work book in my final year of school. Fond memories and my copy still contains my notes from 35 years ago.

Ketogenic - The Nutrition Network (current read). I have been interested in Ketogenic eating for a while, so wading through this academic textbook might be enough to kick carbs out of my diet.

Wanting - Luke Burgis (Next on the to-read list)

Broken Money - Lyn Alden (in the post)
