Reading Between Methodologies In Science - Journey To Look For Better Paths Forward

Looking through Scientific Research can be Extremely Difficult.

I spent most of the day today searching through different Research Papers and Methodologies that Exist.

The Goal?

To find better ways to Help my Brother-in-Law.

Now, I've mentioned it in the past, but my Brother has Non-Verbal Autism.

Something he has had for nearly 40 years.

Despite the Challenges, his Parents have a lot of Hope that there is Hope for Improvement.

I do too.

This is a part of the Reason Why I have been spending time Reading a Lot of Scientific Research and Looking at Different Methodologies that exist out there.

My Father-in-Law is really good about Looking for Potential Paths to Help.

But if you Know Anything about Scientific Research, you'll Know...

Just because something "Sounds" Good and "Appears" to have Potential...

Does Not Mean It Does.

Which is Where I Come In.

I frequently do Deep Dives into the Potential Paths my Father-in-Law finds to see What Makes Sense, What is Nonsense, and Trying to Connect the Dots between Different Research Papers.

As I said, just because something "Sounds" or "Appears" to have Potential, Does Not Mean It Does.

Even if it "Does", there is Another Challenge.

Sometimes, different Methodologies Exist that Conflict or Overlap.

It can become Extremely Confusing, especially if you Do Not Know how to Look Into the Research.

You'll Read One Research Paper that talks about How this Potential Solution is Great at Removing Heavy Metals (In Autism, it is one of the Theories of Causes).

Then, You'll Read Elsewhere how that Solution is Not Advisable because it "Also" Removes the Necessary Minerals for Health.

Or Perhaps you Read about a Promising Theory of Improving Cellular Health that Utilizes Waves...

However, you begin to Hear about Two Methodologies that Utilize Different Types of Approaches based on the same Theory - Sound Waves and Light Waves.

What makes this all even More Difficult is these Research Methodologies usually Do Not Recognize or Acknowledge Each Other.

The Research tends to Focused on Whatever the Researchers are Focused On...

Or Paid to be Focused On.

So if the Researchers are Looking for a Positive Result...

You'll See a Positive Result.

If they are Looking for a Negative Result...

You'll See a Negative Result.

As you look through the different Studies, it becomes Challenging to Determine What is Good, and what is just Designed to "Look" Good.

When Methodologies are Truly Helpful...

Or When Methodologies are Hiding Damning Information.

It is Truly a Mess.

Especially when you are Digging Into an Area that is Highly Criticized such as in the Realm of Autism.

That is Not Even Mentioning the Amount of False Information that Exists within the Marketing.

Citing Research Articles that have Nothing to do with the Products or Methodologies being Advertised.

So, how do you make Progress?

Well, it becomes Really Tricky.

But, there is Something that Frequently Helps...

Look for Opposing Perspectives.

When Everyone is Only Looking Out for Their Own Perspective...

The Only Path to Truth is to Learn All the Perspectives.

Who Is For That Method?

Who Is Against It?

What Else Would They Recommended and Why?

Then you have to begin to Connect the Dots on Your Own.

You should also Pay Attention to those Who Acknowledge Other Perspectives.

These Individuals tend to be Less Biased and Seekers Toward Truth.

They May Not Always be Perfect...

But they Frequently have Good Domain Expertise and have a Good Sense of Leads in Other Directions.

Also, be Wary of the Most Common Information.

In the World of Scientific Research, just because something is "Common", does Not make it Right or True.

Often things are Common due to Marketing, Misinformation, Influencer Misunderstandings, and Biased Research that has been Paid For.

I read that over 80% of Research comes from a Handful of Companies that seek "Very" Specific Results, and are Unafraid to Hide Results that Show "Otherwise".

Which is All the More Reason to Begin to Read Between the Lines of Research.

Those with Power Seek to Keep It...

But the Truth Exists.

People will Always Seek the Truth.

They May be Small Voices.

But they May end up being the Voices We Most Need.

To Find a Better Path Forward...

We Must Consider All Paths.

Even if We Do Not Agree.

Even if is Sounds Strange.

Within All Different Positions, there are Hints and Whispers of the Truth.

We have to have the Courage to be Open to Considering All the Perspectives to Discover the Truth.
