Read This If You're an Overthinker

I wonder when you'll decide you've had enough with the over-thinking.

Because when you realize it is possible to problem-solve, make decisions, and move forward with ease and confidence, you admit that overthinking is a choice.

That may have stung for a second.

Step 1: Let the Feelings Flow!

When a problem comes up, it's natural to feel some kind of way about it. BUT, it's important to allow however you are feeling to flow through so you don't get STUCK in them!

By the way - research tells us, a feeling only has a shelf-life of 90 seconds. Beyond that is an automated feeling pattern activated by stress and fear.

Let the feelings flow; vent if needed. But make sure to put a time limit on the vent session!

Step 2: Label the Big, Scary Feeling

Your body feels your feelings without your brain even registering the name of the feeling. Meaning, it isn't conscious! So, taking a minute to be still and feel the feeling, brings you to the present moment so you can accurately label the feeling. Once the feeling is named, you have the opportunity to neutralize it before it overpowers you.

Try to go beyond staying with the common surface-level feelings - happy, sad, mad, and scared.

Ask yourself, "What kind of mad am I experiencing?"

Consider specific feelings like - frustration, violation, disappointment, anger, and defeat.

Getting super specific allows you to understand the story beneath the feeling.

Step 3: Identify the Desired Outcome

Focus your thoughts on how you want the problem resolved. Consider all the factors from what you need to what you want to have happen to how you want to feel upon the situation getting resolved.

Envision how you want to BE despite the conditions you are encountering. Creating a clear vision becomes the guide leading you through the problem and reinforces the concept that PROBLEMS ARE TEMPORARY!

Easy peasy, right?

At the end of the day, it's your choice whether or not to use this simple, three-step process, and offer yourself the peace of mind you deserve.

Using this simple process means you are BE-ing a real action-taker.
