Looking to add some original art to your walls? Nice touch!

Art can make a statement and add instant visual interest to your home or office. But make sure it’s drawing attention for the right reason: hung the wrong way, your piece can go from masterpiece to eyesore quickly.

Use these 3 tips to ensure your art looks its best on your walls:

Tip #1: Hang it at eye level

Typically, your art should be displayed at eye level, so people’s eyes are drawn to it. But if your ceilings are lower than 8-9 feet, consider displaying bigger pieces that almost reach the ceiling to make your space feel taller.

Tip #2: Treat collections as one piece

When displaying a collection of pieces on a wall, treat the collection like a single work. Arrange it in a cohesive way that makes sense for your space. Be mindful of where the display starts and stops.?

Tip #3: Bigger is better

Art that’s too big is always better than art that’s too small. If your art is trying to fill a space it’s too small for, it won’t look its best. Generally, your art should be the same shape and orientation as the wall it’s displayed on.?

Now, these 3 are just the tip of the iceberg. Displaying art in your home doesn’t have to be difficult – just be sure to consider the scale of the piece, the number of pieces you want to display and the sight lines of your space.
