Reactions
I asked some questions in my recent post on FBI arrests;
Below are the interesting reactions and contributions got the following reactions:
Where have we missed it as a nation and a people?
1. “I find that most family know what yahoo boys do and they still support and praise them shame! – David Yombo Adewuyi”
2. (As long as we continue to celebrate "anonymous" wealth, that can't be traced to any legal source, we should expect more of such. Corruption doesn't fall on people, it is mostly planted in people as a seed of greed paired with a readiness to explain "little corrupt practices"). – Emmanuella Oruche-Tijani
3. “The quest for instant gratification. The vilification of hard work – Kolawole Arowogun”
4. “The wrong we see manifested are symptoms of deeply rooted issues. – Adesola Harold Orimalade”
5. “We got it wrong in parenting, leadership and religion. The leaders have continued to loot money widening the gap between the rich and the poor. We worship money so much in Nigeria that parents hardly have time for their children or train in them. Our religion instead of correcting all these anomalies have continued to celebrate wealth irrespective of the sources. – Uzo Kenechukwu.”
6. “We have missed it 'tipe tipe' (a long while back) – Oluwaseun Somefun.”
Where do we go from here?
1. “We have to start a whole social restructuring to make crime look less glamorous. We have to create a society where hard work breed comfort, if not everyone will be willing to bite from the crime cake. – Kolawole Arowogun”
2. “We all have the power to rewrite the narrative in our own small corner - that's where we can start. – Emmanuella Oruche-Tijani”
3. “It must start from our religious houses, spirituality has been sacrificed for materiality. We need to set a new standard for success. – Azeez Lawal”
4. “Until and unless we learn to do simple things well, greatness becomes even that much harder to achieve. – Adesola Harold”
5. “We ought to stop celebrating just anybody, especially most NIGERIAN POLITICIANS and others with questionable sources of income. – Edwin Okegbe”
