Reaction vs Response: 5 Second Pause

Reaction vs Response: 5 Second Pause

"Silence is louder than speaking. Pause is a short time of silence."

#Situation Control

You can control your tongue and express respect to others. The response comes after processing of inputs and preparation of a suitable kind reply. And when you react, your body language and reactions become wrong. Wrong reactions would make the situation out of control.

#Analysis

Responsibility comes after appropriate responses. A 5-second pause analyses the inputs, situation, and gravity, maintains respect and kindness, etc. The reaction has lacked analysis of the problem and answer which could transform the situation/matter on a different track.

#Body Language

5 sec pause mechanism controls your emotions. Whenever you react, it brings various changes in your body language and modifies your attitude and tone. Disrespectful attitude changes the situation many-fold unkind and forces others to become reactive.

#Respectful

5 sec pause maintains respect for each other. Discussion is the subject and there is no need to make the situation disrespectful. The response brings out what is right or wrong instead of who is right or wrong. A 5-second pause maintains a cool, calm, respectful, meaningful, and kind atmosphere.

#Good Listener

Be a good listener rather than more talkative. A good listener gains more from different personalities with versatile opinions and thought processes. Response after a 5-second pause provides sufficient time to process the inputs from other participants and then suitable respectful response submission.

#Makes kindness

5 five-second pauses make you always kind because it is not a quick reaction without thinking. A pause process for matters of discussion and queries, prepare a suitable harmless response, think about it multiple times, and then deliver submission. This pause time always thinks for others' respect and makes you kind enough to respond.

#Well-being

Response after a 5-second pause makes your well-being so much that you think of not yourself but all the personnel’s wellbeing. Other’s well-being in your mind brings you to maintain natural kindness. Silence always brings well-being for one and all.

#Spread happiness

Pause brings a peaceful situation and keeps you and everybody in the right attitude, body language, tone, etc. Pause in discussion maintains a sufficient distance of chronic long-term health effects due to mental pressure, disturbance, anxiety, etc.

Pause always spreads happiness in you. Your happiness spreads among others and comes back to you to make your life happy.

"Response is a choice"

The response is your responsibility to handle with care.

dr. V. P.? Singgh, great insight on the power of pausing before responding! The 5-second pause allows us to choose a response that aligns with our values rather than react impulsively. It’s a small practice that can transform conversations, fostering respect and clarity. Additionally, adding intentional breathing during the pause can further center emotions, making it easier to stay composed. Question: How has incorporating a pause changed the outcomes of challenging situations for you?

I have used this 5-second pause (or more sometimes) a few times lately. It's been valuable, since I sometimes have low energy or some other thing has affected my mood/attitude negatively. With this technique, I've been able to be more objective and more forward more intelligently in my interaction with others.
