React is a JavaScript library designed for building user interfaces. It follows a component-based architecture, allowing developers to create encapsulated, reusable components that manage their own state and efficiently update the UI when data changes. Developed and maintained by Facebook, React has gained immense popularity due to its flexibility, speed, and ability to create reusable UI components. React has revolutionized the way modern web applications are developed. It gives programmers the ability to easily design interactive and dynamic user interfaces because to its well-liked and potent JavaScript library.
Here is the steps how to build first react web application.
1. Setting Up Development Environment:
Setting up development environment is necessary before we begin writing React code. Ensure that npm (Node Package Manager) and Node.js are installed on system. The next step is to use Create React App (CRA), a command-line tool that creates a brand-new React project with all the required dependencies and configurations.
To create a new React project using CRA, open terminal and run the following command:
npx create-react-app my-react-app
We can replace “my-react-app” with the desired name for project. Once the setup is complete, navigate to the project folder:
cd my-react-app
2. Understanding React Components
Everything in React is based on components. A component is a standalone, reusable building unit that is in charge of delivering a certain feature of your application. Functional and class-based components are the two basic categories of components.

Example of a functional component:
import React from ‘react’;
Example of a class-based component:
import React, { Component } from ‘react’;
3. Creating Your First React Component
To create first React component, open the src folder and navigate to App.js. Replace the existing code with the following:
import React from ‘react’;
3. Running React Application:
To see your React application in action, run the following command in your terminal:
npm start
This will start the development server and open React application in default web browser. We should see the message “Welcome to the world of Technology!” displayed on the screen.
