Nidhi Sahni, Marketing Operations Manager, shares her Walmart Connect journey and insider tips for acing the interview process.?

This week in our “Connecting Behind the Scenes” LinkedIn series, which highlights the associates working at Walmart Connect, Marketing Operations Manager, Nidhi Sahni, takes us through her career journey about how she landed her dream job in Walmart Connect’s Revenue Operations department. Tell us more about your journey to joining Walmart Connect.??

Joining Walmart Connect was a significant turning point in my career journey. Prior to this, I worked for 15+ years in India in the marketing, advertising, and media space managing multi-million-dollar brand budgets. When my family and I relocated to the US, I pivoted to digital marketing. I took in-person courses at Stanford University and online courses to upskill myself and transition.

I landed my first break in a tech startup managing their Alliances and Marketing efforts and then built my US digital media experience at a publisher and a large social media tech company. Prior to this, I volunteered with an organization that helps women return to work after career gaps. During this phase, I visited the Walmart’s San Bruno campus for a returnee program, and I was very impressed with the organization and the efforts it was initiating to commence its retail media journey. I recognized the growth opportunity of retail media, and I started applying for roles at Walmart Connect.?

Eventually, an opportunity with an opening in Revenue Operations came through, and I joined Walmart Connect. Today, I am part of the Enablement & Support team of Revenue Operations, where we drive onboarding and support to enable customer success at all stages of the campaign lifecycle. My team specifically works on the Walmart DSP and closely collaborates with the Trade Desk support team and The Media Trust.??

What other opportunities are there at Walmart Connect beyond your current role??

Beyond my day-to-day role, I have taken advantage of several opportunities at Walmart Connect that allow me to leverage my past experiences. I volunteered to manage the Revenue Operations team's offsite and got involved with Associate Engagement activities (AES). As part of AES, I am the Co-Captain for the San Bruno office, where we create an environment where everyone feels included and celebrated by organizing fun in-office and out-of-office events like Holiday and Summer parties, celebratory and food-related activities! For the Rev Ops AES, we launched many engagement activities, including a monthly Learning Hour, and we ensure wishing every team member on their birthday and work anniversary!??

Recently, I am thrilled to be the Ambassador for the Women's Resource Group Community for the San Bruno office, focusing on hosting events and providing networking opportunities. This group is especially dear to my heart as I have balanced and juggled work and personal life and restarted my career after moving to a new country. I hope to share my experiences with others at Walmart Connect and offer help to those who may need career advice, guidance, or just moral support.??

What advice would you give applicants while interviewing???

If you're considering applying for a job at Walmart Connect, here are my top three tips to remember during the interview process:??

1. Be enthusiastic and never give up! Continue to strive for the role you desire with perseverance and determination. Follow Walmart Connect on LinkedIn and get auto alerts when new openings come up.??
2. Be authentic! Embrace the differences and experiences that you must contribute to Walmart Connect, as they are valued and appreciated by the teams. Focus on your achievements relevant to the position using examples of how your knowledge, skills, and abilities fit the job.??
3. Listen carefully and always send a thank-you note with any detail you might have missed during the interview. Remember to research the company and the role you're applying for, practice answering common interview questions, dress for success, and arrive on time. During the interview, listen carefully to the questions and answer them truthfully and confidently.??

In summary, joining Walmart Connect has been a great experience for me. I've been able to leverage my past experiences, take advantage of various opportunities outside my day-to-day role, and contribute to the company's culture and success.?
