#Homebuyers, #sellers, and the #realestate #market remain in a stalemate game of chicken.?In this week's #mortgage #marketupdate, I review what the data and "experts" are saying as we enter the upcoming #theFed meeting.?I also ask for a little help reaching for the stars in this week's personal note.

• A historic?#housing shortage has meant prices and offers remain competitive despite high #mortgagerates.?That's left less than a quarter of the roughtly 1.1 million home listings with finacial reach of the typical American household, according to a recent joint report from the National Association of REALTORS? and #Realtor.com.
• Andy Walden, Black Knight's vice president of enterprise research, says,?"The combination of lower supply and demand in April led to both slowing sales and firming prices.?In fact, while home sales dipped, April marked the?fourth consecutive month of home price gains, which are now almost universally rising across the country again on a seasonally adjusted basis."
• The #CPI #inflation data comes out at 8:30am (ET), on Tuesday.?This is the only major rate news heading into the upcoming Fed meeting.
