My Learning Journey at Daraz
Going Back
When I stepped into Daraz Bangladesh after my higher secondary graduation, I was young and inexperienced, but eager to prove myself. Despite my age, they chose to hire me based on my performance in a contractual campaign, which was unusual, as they typically don’t hire people of my age at that time. I can proudly say that I was special. Thanks, Daraz !
Starting as a junior executive, I was determined to make the most of every opportunity, even though it wasn’t easy. Balancing my full-time job while pursuing my BSc was a horrible challenge. Juggling work responsibilities with academic demands was often overwhelming, and there were times when I felt stretched thin. Yet, every late night, every moment of doubt, and every ounce of exhaustion was a testament to my commitment and resilience.
Now, Eight years later, I look back at my journey with pride and gratitude. My role as an Assistant Project Manager has been both challenging and deeply rewarding, reflecting the hard work and dedication I invested along the way.

The Start
My early days at Daraz were a whirlwind of new experiences and steep learning curves. I remember feeling overwhelmed at times, unsure if I could keep up with the fast pace of the company. But every challenge I faced was a chance to grow. I threw myself into my work, eager to learn and prove that I belonged. There were late nights, moments of doubt, and times when I questioned if I was on the right path. But with each step forward, I gained confidence and the belief that hard work and determination could take me far.

Learning and Growing Through Experience
As the years passed, I transitioned through different teams and roles, each one teaching me something new. I faced challenges that pushed me to my limits projects that required me to think on my feet, and situations that demanded quick decisions. But it was through these experiences that I discovered my strength and resilience. I learned to adapt, to be flexible, and to embrace change, even when it felt uncomfortable. These were not just lessons for my career, but lessons for life.

Facing Criticism and Rising Above
Throughout my journey, there were moments when the voices around me were not always supportive. Some questioned my background, while others wondered why I stayed at Daraz for so long. They never thought about my age and how I graduated! There were times when these criticisms stung, and I’d find myself doubting my choices. But instead of letting the negativity pull me down, I used it as fuel to push harder. I focused on what I could control my work, my skills, and my growth. Over time, I realized that the only opinion that truly mattered was my own. As long as I stayed true to my goals and values, nothing could hold me back.

Mentoring and Leading Others
As I grew in my career, I found myself in positions where I could give back by mentoring and leading others. Training new employees became a role that I cherished. It wasn’t just about teaching them the job; it was about helping them believe in themselves, just as I had learned to believe in myself. Watching others grow and succeed because of something I had shared with them was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. It reminded me that success isn’t just about personal achievements; it’s about lifting others up along the way.

Lessons Learned and Words of Advice
As I reflect on my journey, there are a few lessons that stand out lessons that I hope can inspire others:
?? Keep Learning: Keep Growing, Life is a journey of continuous learning. Every experience, good or bad, is a chance to grow. Embrace it.
?? Be Adaptable: Life doesn’t always go as planned, and that’s okay. Be willing to adapt and change course when needed.
?? Mentorship Matters: Whether you’re receiving guidance or offering it, mentorship can change lives. Don’t underestimate its power.
?? Don’t Let Criticism Define You: People will always have something to say. Don’t let their words define your path. Trust yourself, and keep moving forward.

Looking Ahead with Hope
As I look to the future, I’m filled with hope and excitement. I’m continuing to develop my skills, with the goal of pursuing a master’s degree in Project Management or Supply Chain. But more than that, I want to keep growing as a person, to inspire others who might be walking a similar path. My journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth every moment. And if I can do it, so can you.
