REACH Siem Reap is a locally registered Cambodian organisation located in the urban village of Thlok Andoung, Siem Reap.?
REACH has a purpose to work closely with families in order to break long-standing cycles of poverty.
While education is a great tool against poverty, the need for support goes beyond. That's why REACH focuses not only on the development of a child’s education but also on supporting the day-to-day survival of their families. Local empowerment and collaboration can lead to long-term sustainable change in a way that education alone cannot.
Through their integrated program offerings, REACH aims to meet the needs of each child and their family, so that they can effectively break free from poverty in the long term.
REACH offers a variety of strategically crafted, free programs to hundreds of disadvantaged children, and families in the Thlok Andoung community.
Each of REACH's programs is centred around its core contributions of nutrition, education, and healthcare. These programs are all locally run and carried out alongside the work of local authorities, NGOs and child protection agencies.
?REACH and OtherBirds
When OtherBirds was founded, I knew that I wanted to use our successes to create positive change in the world. REACH is one way that vision has been brought to life.
When I discovered REACH, I saw an alignment with the values of OtherBirds, so I strove to find some ways to get involved and support their mission.
As a major sponsor of REACH, I and the team at OtherBirds are proud to have made a difference.
We’re sponsoring the Computer Literacy program, for example, which has allowed REACH to build classrooms and supply dozens of computers so that children can learn digital skills.
In addition to this, The OtherBirds team have been hard at work producing quality advertising content for REACH and it’s some of the most satisfying work we do.
If you want to make a difference, there are plenty of opportunities to donate, volunteer, sponsor a program, or participate in one of REACH’s charity challenges.
I myself will soon be participating in the Ride to Reach challenge early next year, cycling 650km across Cambodia to raise much-needed funds.
