Re-thinking teaching in higher education

Higher education institutions and governments have increased their scrutiny of teaching in recent decades. Alongside this scrutiny, there is heightened activity in promoting teaching quality. Programs about teaching and learning in higher education are one strategy for this purpose. In teaching within a program for academics across the disciplines, I highlight an ontological dimension concerned with how we are learning to be, which extends what we know and can do. Placing stronger emphasis on developing how we are learning to be, as teachers, requires re-thinking both how we conceptualise teaching in higher education and enact it in practice. https://www.tandfonline.com/eprint/7R7R3PNP7RRIIZWQP6K2/full
