Re-Re-Reminders
Some people do it, before they are told.
Some do it, when they are told.
Some have to be reminded, and reminded, and reminded.
Millions have been spent on trying to achieve productivity.
Substantial resources have beed expended on?efficiency.
A lot of midnight oil has been burnt to reduce costs.
But one cost, one hazard, one blooper that keeps slipping under the radar and goes undetected, is reminders.
Reminders, for many as essential as ready set go. Reminder. Reminder Reminder before they get ready, and another set of reminders before they get set. And another set of yawning reminders before they actually go for it.
Reminders are a collosal waste of time. On the entire eco system.?
Reminders add to the cost which we all end up paying?in the vicious circle.
Reminders are what frustrates the efficient to either drop projects, or avoid dealing with people as the organized, responsible, and unswerable are in a precious minority.
Imagine you ask something to be done, and you need a string of reminders?
You feel frustrated, despondent, and deflated.
One the other hand, if it gets done without a reminder,.
You get enthused, you feel the people you work with are credible, and you are motivated to achieve more.
Reminders are not black and white but shades of grey. Efficient organizations, therefore?create a culture of accountability where reminders are an exception than a rule.

1 年Nice article, being self accountable and doing things without being told is best and what everyone should aim to be. But the reality is, not everyone be like this. it’s in nature of some or many, that they want to be reminded, as that’s just how they function. Possibly due to many factors in their life. I understand it’s frustrating to remind people but that’s where possibly technology can come handy to remind people to get things done so that others don’t need to get frustrated to do that work. Everyone would be a lot happier if they accept others how they are instead of trying to change them. It’s up to each individual to change themselves and strive to improve to be better if they are not happy with status co.
