Re-inventing your Food Business in Times of Social Distancing

The COVID-19 virus has impacted us all and we are all trying to find a way to stay healthy and safe as people but also as businesses.

Often people ask me “When is a company is ready to innovate (on a disruptive and break-through level)?” I tell them it often happens when there is either Passion or Panic. Then people are ready to make the change and do/produce/bring something really innovative.

These current and challenging times we are facing do trigger companies to innovate and bring value in a new way. Look at “social distancing” – becoming the standard in life, the ‘new normal’; Restaurants that are offering take away (meals, coffee, picknick baskets etc.) in the mean time they are closed and reconstructing their places to make it smart distance proof. You see (Farming) Markets that are becoming drive-through events where you can pass the different stands by car and buy your produce along the way. Schools that are offering online classes next to “teaching at home programmes” to coach parents. Driving schools that are offering online driving lessons where the student can practice driving through a car/road simulation. Farmers that are starting selling their produce directly to consumers through connecting with existing delivery services.

It is a time where companies challenge themselves on how they run their business.

At Fresh Insight we are also re-thinking how we do the things we do. Consumer studies and workshops, we will do more and more online. Even the sensory panels where consumers will pick up the fresh produce and the panel discussions and tastings will happen during online sessions. We have put our company focus on activities that help our clients increase and sharpen their online presence. Offering innovative methods and tools to create more impact at customer and consumer level through engaging websites, social media and online sales activation campaigns.

Anything and everyone is online so you’re online presence is more important than ever.
