Re-authoring Futures - CON-TEXTS
A reader like compilation for the Beyond Storytelling Conference 2018 in Hamburg
Introduction
This compilation is two much like a puzzle or a patchwork that a summary would destroy the image of a sparking fire you would get after a first or second reading of this booklet curated by Wolfgang Tonninger, Jacques Chopczyk and the Beyond Storytelling Team. Instead, I'll share with you some quotes taken from this 136 pages booklet.
About time
I love this one from Stephanie Bachmair. "As suddenly, ... my gold watch ... ending up in water. After mentally check the weight of the loss, I start laughing, feel relief."
About good questions
"This is a good question I do not want to spoil it with an answer" - John Cage, Silence (afternote to his "Lecture on Nothing)
About telling your story
"If you do not tell your story on your own, someone else is going to do it instead" - Joanna Sell quoting Michael Margolis
About Change
Changes is heterogenous, moreover some places are slower other places are quicker. Certainly we are all impacted. ... Sohail Inayatullah interviewed by Jacques Chlopczyk
About The Future
"The future is here. It is not evenly distributed yet". William Gibson
And, written on the walls of the conference room, : "The future is not a room you enter but a room you create."
