RCC 2021 - Registration Open
Dorothy Friedlander
Vice President, Risk and Compliance Programs at American Bankers Association
I have the honor of directing the design and delivery of the ABA's Regulatory Compliance Conference (RCC) and I'm pleased to report we have opened up registration for this year! (RCC Homepage)
I have some RCC news to share with you:
- With the pandemic still rolling and vaccines not rolling as fast as we would like, for the safety of our attendees and staff, and the uncertainty of local in-person meeting ordinances, we are going virtual again this year. I know many of you are disappointed and I too will miss seeing you all in-person. However, I promise that we will build a virtual event that not only provides the real-time, critical information that you have come to rely on, but there will also be future-focused sessions. We all recognize that many changes made in 2020 will remain (like remote work) and our sessions will help you navigate this "new normal." You can also expect opportunities for community sharing and engagement through our platform. When challenges are thrown at us - the compliance community adapts and keeps moving forward!
- The advisory board and I have just begun planning. In consultation with ABA's expert regulatory team, we are hearing that with the change in administrations, there will be a significant number of new issues and potential regulatory changes that will take center stage in our program. In fact, because so much of it will be late-breaking, you may not see all sessions posted right away on the website. We will continue to update the website as we confirm sessions and speakers.
- We are trying a new platform this year with enhanced capability for attendee engagement - more than any platform I've ever seen. Look for more information to come in May.
- This program will point very high for CRCM credits. Also, we are working to build in sessions that meet the specific NASBA monitoring requirements for CPE credits and we will update you in late May if this program will offer CPE credits.
Did you know that this is the 35th year RCC will convene? (I count last year as well.). It has been my honor to have been the steward of this event for over half of it's life and one thing I know for sure - the hard working compliance community deserves the very best ABA can offer and that's what the advisory board and the ABA staff intend to do this year. Our ultimate goal - to make your jobs easier. So, please watch the website for updates (www.aba.com/RCC) and contact me at [email protected] with any questions.
Together, we'll grow at RCC 21. After all, RCC is "The National Conversation on Compliance!"
