Raytheon UK’s training transformation apprenticeship scheme

The nature of military training has changed. From synthetic training environments and digital learning tools to virtual reality simulations, customers want training solutions that meet the operational challenges they face today, and in the future.

We are seeing increased demand for courseware design and media developers that can blend synthetic training environments and digital learning tools. ?

To meet this demand and build on the success of our established apprenticeship schemes in areas such as engineering, project management and business development, our Training Transformation Services (TTS) business is excited to announce that they will be developing apprenticeships in courseware design and media development.

Building on success

Our TTS business is growing.?

For example, as part of the Capita led Team Fisher consortium, and in collaboration with the Royal Navy, we are building a team that is helping to provide a data and technology-led transformation of Royal Navy training.?

  • We have responsibility for reviewing and modernising all Royal Navy training courses and providing accompanying analytics to ensure training methods best meet the Navy’s needs.?
  • We also deliver training analysis and design, media, and training equipment support services on every site and establishment within the Selborne programme.?

Our experience and expertise ensure that the men and women of the Royal Navy continue to get realistic, immersive, and challenging training that prepares them for life at sea.

These successes, and the increasing demand for our capabilities, have created a unique opportunity for us to expand our workforce and bring fresh talent into the field.

That is why this year, our ‘Be the Gamechanger’ campaign swiftly focused on those gamechangers within our business that are transforming training for the future.?

  • We are growing our training and media designers, as well as simulation engineers, to meet the demand.
  • One of these ways is through apprenticeships.

Why Apprenticeships?

Apprenticeships have long been a cornerstone of vocational education, providing hands-on experience and real-world skills that are essential in today's job market.?

Our newly launched TTS apprenticeship programme will be designed as a great route for designers and creators to get a general understanding of the various parts of the TTS business, whilst learning on the job.? They can also provide a great route for designers and creators to get a general understanding of the various parts of our training business whilst learning on the job.

Investing in the next generation

We want to exploit the very best in emerging technologies and work with the armed forces to equip their personnel with the latest tools and technologies.? Our TTS apprenticeship scheme will also help cultivate the next generation of courseware designers while also offering our current employees pathways to upskill and advance their careers.

We cannot wait to embark on this journey. For more information about our apprenticeship schemes, please visit Early Careers | Raytheon UK
