Raw Selection recently held a Salary Survey, focusing on CFOs who are based in the US. We have split the results into three categories, depending on the company’s revenue size.

We have split the results into three categories, depending on the company’s revenue size.
Below $50M
We found the lowest salary in this category to be $115,000. The highest salary from a CFO in a company with less than $50M in revenue is $300,000. Of the participants in this category, the median salary is $202,500.
In terms of bonus percentage, we found that a majority number of participants in this category, 92%, receive under a 50% bonus with the lowest being 20%. Only one CFO surveyed in this category received no bonus.
8% of participants received above 50%. The highest amount of bonus for participants here was 125% of basic salary.
Of the participants working in firms with below $50M revenue, 54% have equity – with the remaining receiving none.
$50M to $150M
We found the lowest salary in this category to be $140,000. The highest salary from a CFO in a company with between $50M and $150M in revenue is 300,000. Of the participants in this category, the median salary is $215000.
In terms of bonus percentage, we found that a small majority of participants in this category, 33%, receive 50% bonus or more.

66% of participants receive below 50%, and out of these. The lowest amount of bonus for participants here was 10%.
We found that 13% of participants here received a performance-based bonus.
Of the participants of the salary survey working in firms with between $50 and $150 revenue, 53% don’t receive equity.
$150M+
We found the lowest salary in this category to be $150,000. The highest salary from a CFO in a company with over $150M in revenue is $400,000. Of the participants in this category, the median salary is $250,000.
In terms of bonus percentage, we found that 65% of participants receive 50% or less in bonus – with the lowest being 20%.
The remaining 35% of participants receive over 50% in bonus – the highest being 70%.
Of the participants of the salary survey working in firms with between $50 and $150 revenue, 40% don’t receive equity, whereas the remaining have equity or have previously had it and sold it.
Overall, Raw Selection’s 2022 salary survey for CFOs has proved effective in revealing what employees should expect in terms of salary, bonus, and compensation in their roles.
