Rather be Mindful than Mindless?

I recently read the book Mindfulness for Dummies by ??Shamash Alidina Rifling through the pages I thought I’d pen down why I think it is important to use this process in our daily life. Mindfulness has been linked by researchers to enhancing or adding skills that are highly valuable in the workplace.? It is increasingly linked to self management, emotional management and better relationships.?

The practice of mindfulness can help you become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and sensations in a way that suspends judgment and self-criticism. Developing the ability to pay attention to see clearly what is happening around us deeply? doesn’t eliminate life’s pressures, however, it can help us respond to them in a more productive manner.

Learning and practicing mindfulness can help us recognize and step away from habitual, often unconscious emotional and physiological reactions to everyday events. Its constant practice allows immersive presence in life and work and improves the overall quality of living.?

Mindfulness can help you to:?

  1. Recognize, slow down, or stop automatic and habitual reactions
  2. Respond to complex or difficult situations in a way that resolves them?
  3. See situations and analyze causes with greater focus and clarity
  4. Become more creative
  5. Achieve balance through resilience at work and home
