Rare Video of a Poetry Reading in Chicago June 1989

Linked below is a rare video of a reading in Chicago at Adolf's Bar near Milwaukee and North Avenues, It was a heavily populated Polish neighborhood at the time.

The evening was June 13, 1989 and a large group of well known local Chicago poets got up to read their pieces.  The event was hosted by Jose Chavez and featured some great talent, among those, Kurt Heinz, Marc Smith, Gregorio Gomez, Jose Chavez, Mike LaPuma and myself...I am the first guest poet.

Realize this was over 26 years ago and times do change, but not much.

The video is not the best quality as it was a copy of the original and I converted it to CD to post on youtube

Be Warned: The video does contain some adult language. some of you may not like the language, and deem it offensive and I will tell you now, NONE of the poems were intended to be offensive, we were of like mind and our mind set was to wake up the masses...we were all revolutionist in our own way back then, and I hope we still are, I know I am.
