Forgive me, LinkedIn for I have sinned. It has been many weeks since my last post.
Things have been busy for me recently, and I have made the all too common mistake of focusing my efforts on delivering what's in front of me, leaving little or no time for the road ahead. So now is a good time to step back, reflect and capture what I've learned.
1 I know I'm onto something...
From running the pilot of my RAPID Performance workshop with some trusted advisors, to applying the framework myself to a client engagement, to conversations with parents on the sidelines of my son's football games, I know I'm onto something. I've had some great feedback, and some amazingly challenging coaching questions fired at me, all of which has given me confidence that what I'm pulling together helps people move forward with their performance challenges.

2 Being a generalist has its pros and cons
I've always prided myself on being able to quickly apply myself to whatever challenge was in front of me, whether I had any experience in that industry/ field/ function or not. Being a generalist helps bring new thinking to existing challenges, and provide a framework that guides you through even the most complex issues. But when it comes to selling your wares, it takes a certain mindset to want to buy from outside a chosen field. And even when you know you're onto something that can be applied anywhere, sometimes its best to start focused.
3 Your network wants to help
Asking for help, feedback and guidance can be a tricky thing, but I'm constantly amazed at just how open and giving people are with their time when it comes to helping out. And if you can frame your request for help in a way that adds value to others, then it's a win-win. It's easy to assume that you (as the help-requester) are the only one getting value out of the conversation, and this is rarely the case. Use your network, and be willing to give back to those who reach out to you.
So what's next? There's much more to come from me, particularly when it comes to RAPID Performance. I'd love to hear your thoughts, and always happy to chat about how I can help you, so drop me a message and I'll set up a chat
