A rant about creating your own 'educated and positive' environment.

So I've been off social media a bit more than normal.
The constant barrage of peoples opinions, news from liars and hypocrites just seems a tad too much.
For example yesterday it was the BBC announcing a documentary about how Jimmy Saville got away with it for so long.
Hmmm ... could be the fact that despite the BBC KNOWING about his antics for decades and deciding to do NOTHING about it, that's how he got away with it.
And now they're profiting from it once more. The very folks that allowed the situation to continue, doing a documentary on how the situation was allowed to continue.
Then we have the anti maskers, usually highly intelligent people, who now seem to think that having protective clothing doesn't help.
And then you have the 'No Lockdown' demonstrators - who go out and demonstrate in gatherings, thus causing the very thing they want to avoid so much.
Just bizarre.
And as I went on Twitter this morning, facing a whole raft of stupidity, I thought to myself 'why the fuck am I reading this shit?'
What has any of this got to do with me ?
If you don't want to wear a mask, then don't. Nothing to do with me as my job is to keep my own family safe, and bollocks what happens to the anti-maskers and the demonstrators families.
It's their choice, they can do what the like. Nothing to do with me.
If the BBC want to make a non fact based documentary about Jimmy Saville and cover up their role, then bully for them. Again nothing to do with me.
The ability to not get wound up about stuff we have zero control over is evasive the best of time I find. The older I get the less I try to read of it, but it seems increasingly harder.
And I have to continually remind myself to not read the news, not listen to peoples opinions, and instead to focus on building my own environment where education, positivity and kindness lead the way.
Unfortunately, to get there, you have to take a look into the void that is the 'dregs of society and their shitty non fact based opinions' and filter what you need out of it.
Unfortunately, that means the brain sometimes gets caught up in it.
Social media has changed society in to a group of keyboard warriors, and it doesn't matter if what is shared is real, made up or utter unicorn horseshit.
One persons opinion is equal to another persons in this social media world.
It's exactly the reason I don't vote. One wankers vote simply erodes mine. So what's the point.
Instead, like voting, social media is best to simply not bother getting involved in arguments, opinion debates and so on.
It's a waste of time.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you shouldn't be creating content.
I'm saying you shouldn't be engaging with other peoples content where it's opinions based.
As the saying goes, opinions are like arseholes, and every one has got one.
Focus on your own stuff, create your own environment, instead of reading the news, write the copy for your own website, or company brochure, or spend that half hour writing goals.
While I had my coffee this morning, I wrote this instead of checking the news.
And when I'm tempted to read the news, I too need to find a way to avoid that, and do something that will propel my own future forward instead of accepting the sea of shit that are other peoples opinions.
You don't need to agree with any of this - it's your life, and you can do whatever you like with it. You can agree or disagree, it simply makes no difference in the whole scheme of things.
Coffee is finished. Thanks for reading.
