Ranking of the best scientists in the arena of Social Sciences and Humanities 2023

Our CEO Bert Vrijhoef, PhD has been ranked among the world's best scientists in the arena of Social Sciences and Humanities. According to research.com the ranking is "... created using a detailed analysis of 166,880 researchers determined from multiple bibliometric data sources. For the discipline of Social Sciences and Humanities, more than 15317 scientists were analysed." Dr. Vrijhoef was ranked #2494 in the world and #92 in the Netherlands.

Dr. Vrijhoef reported to be "pleasantly surprised and to be even more motivated" to continue his work with his colleagues to support informed decision making about healthcare innovation. "I am grateful to see that, with the contributions of many colleagues at PANAXEA , Stichting Kennisnetwerk CVA Nederland , team 'Task Shifting' at Maastricht UMC+ as well as former and current colleagues at various academic and non-academic organizations, our work has not gone unnoticed by others in their efforts to transform health care."

In his capacity as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Care Coordination Dr. Vrijhoef is very excited to be able to stimulate others to disseminate their research findings and, by doing so, to expand the international knowledge base regarding health care coordination and transformation.

Dr. Vrijhoef holds a Master's Degree in Health Policy and Management and a Ph.D. Degree in Medical Sociology. In 2008 he was awarded with the Harkness Fellowship in Health Care Policy and Practice by the Commonwealth Fund. He was appointed Professor of Chronic Care at Tilburg University (2009-2012), Professor of Health Services and Policy Research at National University of Singapore (2012-2017), Visiting Professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussels (2014-2019). Dr. Vrijhoef joined PANAXEA in 2016 to become its CEO in 2018; a position he combines with roles at Stichting Kennisnetwerk CVA Nederland and at Maastricht UMC+ .
