Randomness…an invitation to acceptance

“Randomness”…. how is life without this word an aura of incompleteness shrouds your ambience. Well most of us love to have some orderliness in and around our lives and yes it is needed. Has orderliness any other meaning of course yes…it means having a structure in life something to fall back upon “a security”. I know U can agree to disagree but yes we all love some kind of structure in our lives and the feeling is mutual with society being the other partner.
As far as I remember the orderliness starts for a child with school and there is a structure…. a schedule….. a timetable…. a lunch hour…. a timing for everything… so what happens when all these walls are pulled down. In short what happens when randomness meets your world ….ouch…I hear …”CHAOS” or “All hell broke loose”. In reality it is not exactly like that at times it’s a blessing in disguise an act which was much needed. How many of us feel like that only those who had a cherish able response with randomness ….randomness is acceptable to them otherwise it beats me if at all people will savour the flavour..
Similar experience I had this weekend …I stepped out from my home turf thinking I am all sorted but what happened next was not even close to how I planned. I planned to utilise every minute of my time around the airport …may be reviewing something or studying something or doing worthwhile…
I reached the space at an expected timeline…surprised to get a through checkin at the counter now this was one of the options which would never ever occur to me…as a result people are gaping at this word “through check-in” which in simple words is I get my luggage at the end (when I reach my destination) so manually I don’t have to hang around doing manual checkins. Unsure how everyone reading this views this but this is a pain in my ass as I travel with my home (read: everything is very important and urgent). The heavy luggages were taken care of I just had to move around with my handbag,…usually I loiter today I had plans…
I walked past the security area and then sat to study…nothing went as per planned I only found myself fidgeting and then as the journey progressed …I had plans to lounge….I reached the waiting space…I had plans to indulge ….I merely sipped a soda (read:cola)…. All throughout the night I wanted to take rest I found myself inquiring for the system to upgrade my journey status…so everything was chaotic…
An earlier ME would have sulked like a puppy…. instead now I enjoy these things it may not give you the exact results but it slips you into that state of acceptance as if whatever happens has a bigger and wider meaning/plan (read: for those who love planning) and its usually for your betterment. By accepting whatever happens on your way to “today” you loosen up the grip of control which you acquired thinking of the result just made it out of your grip….do you really think now anything should bother you. Instead that is the best part when all there is to enjoy this very moment. A moment which is never going to come back and something which you were ready to give up for the sake of that “desired result/ plan”.

At times these randomness times brings at your feet a beautiful experience may be imperfect but who cares as long as its an experience.. something similar happened to me as I met my colleagues at a training session in the headquarters…we hardly meet but this time it was different… I walked into an invitation from one of the facilitators little did I know what to expect so I just joined… I knew some random things are up the sleeves so I landed at a small “tukul” ( a small get together space)which was canopied…as the revved up engine came to a halt…I saw a small low gate with a shed on top.
I was not expecting what met the eyes…I opened the gate stepped in and there was a big lawn area with garden umbrellas… music was the only “no surprise” element because that had been picked up by the ears as we arrived… As I met people there I realised there is a community there unsure what was their common interests I surfed beyond… I found..barbecues, grills…music requests being played…some were helping laying down the tables…shabby articles were put to great use.. I could breath creativity… Everything until now was all unexpected more random…
Suddenly a door swung open and an invitation to join in …what met my eyes was strange.. I saw a drum stand… a karaoke unit ….a DIY Bar stand …all seeming unreal…as if I had stepped into a swanky bar… handmade by brilliant minds…garbage/waste? put to great use…
I saw some of the familiar faces …whom I thought were the serious types…they were karoking… songs played…mikes rotated..drinks served…food overflowed…so these serious faces did understand the idea of random enjoyment on a weekday evening…?
Just imagine if I had stuck to the orderliness and not be carried away by this randomness of time space reality….I would not have had these amazing experience of knowing my colleagues… at times its important to be under the shelter of randomness. Whereas in reality the next moment is as random as these above situations if only we can see through this we hardly will ever face anything like depression…or anger..
