Ramadan is just around the corner and just like every year, many people are waiting anxiously for the month of blessing and forgiveness. During Ramadan, Muslims refrain from food and drink from dawn to dusk. It is important to get proper nourishment between iftar and suhoor and get yourself prepared for the next day of fasting.
For some of us maintaining healthy habits, we worry to gain weight with all the Ramadan iftar gatherings and tasty Ramadan sweets. That long table filled with appetizing food is always mesmerizing!

STAY HYDRATED
Remember our human body is 60% water, and it's vital to keep the body functioning throughout the day. Keeping hydrated will also help in metabolizing and transporting nutrients throughout the body and removing waste!
The amount of water you need per day depends on age, gender, climate, and activity level. On average adults would need 2-3 litres per day. So make sure you are always hydrated by drinking plenty of water before the start of fasting hours.?
Avoid caffeine during suhoor, as it makes you urinate frequently and could dehydrate you quickly. Instead, go for water as it would be the right refreshing option during your fast.
EAT HEALTHY
Being hungry always tempts us to eat quick, unhealthy foods. High processed food with high salt levels, sugar, and unhealthy fats, which don't last long and will have you thirsty during your fast.
Many get ready for the period of Ramadan ahead of time by freezing food that can be cooked later. Try not! It very well may be helpful, however, Ramadan is all about spending time together and eating with loved ones so use the time to gather with friends and family over meal times.
Break your fast with easily digestible foods is a good, healthy option. During Ramadan, people tend to eat a lot of food very quickly after many long hours of fasting. But try breaking your fast with soup, then water or fresh fruit juice, so you can hydrate your body after a long day of dehydration, and then eat the main course 10 or 15 minutes later. This will prevent excessive food intake by giving you a sense of fullness, which in turn will help your digestive system.
