Ramadan 2023

It's that time of the year again! Like every year, I'll be busy listing a number of Ramadan campaigns where anyone who is interested will be able to donate Zakat, simply give Sadaqah or contribute to organizing Iftar around the UAE and beyond. The list will be updated throughout the month so check back for any new campaigns :)

1.UNRWA is collecting both Zakat and general donations for Palestinian refugees

2. UNHCR is collecting Zakat as part of the Refugee Zakat Fund and also collecting general donations. As per the 2023 Islamic Philanthropy Annual Report, the Refugee Zakat Fund impacted the lives of?more than 1.5 million beneficiaries in 21 countries, through both Zakat and Sadaqah contributions.

3. The Citizen's Foundation is collecting both Zakat and general donations to transform the lives of children in Pakistan through education. All donations from 31st March to 2nd April will be matched by a generous donor!

4. Al Jalila Foundation is collecting both Zakat and general donations to support patients in need across the UAE.

5. UAE Zakat Fund is collecting Zakat both online as well as through the Dubai Now application.

6. Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services will be collecting Zakat to support their ongoing programs helping people of determination.

7. Sharjah Charity is organizing multiple campaigns such as settlement of medical bills, tuition and the like in addition to its regular iftar meals and food basket campaigns. They also provide online options for both Zakat Al-Mal and Zakat Al-Fitr.

8. Emirates Red Crescent has organized it's Ramadan Continuous Giving Campaign which ranges from iftar meals and food baskets to Eid clothing and Eidiya in addition to an online option for paying Zakat Al-Fitr.

9. Pakistan Association in Dubai is organizing an art auction from the 29th of March to the 2nd of April and all proceeds will go towards financing the free treatment of deserving patients at the Pakistan Medical Centre in Dubai.

10. Friends of Cancer Patients in UAE will be collecting general donations as well as Zakat to support a number of ongoing initiatives.

11. The Big Heart Foundation will be collecting general donations as well as Zakat to support a number of ongoing initiatives.

13. One Billion Meals Endowment - This year the One Billion Meals initiative has taken on a more sustainable approach - instead of distribution food parcels it's looking for donations to the endowment fund the returns of which will be used to feed deserving people across the globe. There are multiple ways to donate the endowment including via the Etisalat Smiles and Deliveroo apps.

14. Talabat - Talabat will be facilitating donations to the World Food Programme, 1 Billion Meals Endowment and Bread for All initiatives via its app and website.

15. The Giving Family - For those looking to volunteer in distributing Ramadan packages across the UAE, follow The Giving Family. Timing and location of distribution will be posted on their instagram page the day before.

16. Dubai Cares has partnered with Toys R Us to ensure that 20% of purchases over AED 100 will be donated to Dubai Cares' educational programmes.
