Have you ever thought about the unseen energies within and around you and how they might be shaping your reality? This week, I’m reflecting on the story of Cathy Mu , our recent guest on The Health Feast. Cathy's experience is a testament to the mysterious yet influential force of energy, encouraging us to reflect on how our energy impacts every part of our lives.

Growing up in China, Cathy faced a daunting reality as her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given only a few months to live. At just six years old, Cathy grappled with feelings of despair so deep that she contemplated how she might end her own life.

In this moment of profound challenge, the Universe heard her cries. A doctor, well-versed in the ancient practice of Qigong (pronounced chee·guhng), arrived in their town. Her mother's engagement with Qi (chee), the breath and life force, initiated a remarkable transformation. Within months, her mother experienced a healing so profound that doctors could find no traces of cancer. They were baffled, but Cathy’s mom knew her miraculous recovery came from tapping into her Qi, a deep and powerful energy that connects every one of us to the Universe.

This experience ultimately led Cathy on an incredible journey, taking her from her homeland to America and, unbeknownst to her, on the path to becoming a Qigong master (and a CPA and financial advisor along the way). Her story demonstrates the power of our inner strength and a revelation of our untapped potential.

Reflecting on Cathy's story, I am reminded of my own. For a long time, I carried negative energy without realizing its impact on my family. My wife was the one who bravely pointed this out to me, leading me to embark on a path of self-discovery. Through conscious effort, training my breath, and becoming acutely aware of my thoughts and feelings, I began to shift the energy within me and the energy I put out. As a result, my world brightened, my relationships deepened, and a true connection to my inner self emerged.

Like mine, Cathy's journey highlights the remarkable power of understanding and transforming our energy. She went from a life of despair to one rich with purpose and healing, revealing that each of us holds a vast, untapped source of energy, ready to be harnessed and directed.
