All living beings and humans have to live.
Nature gives the essential resources to all living beings to live.
Humans evolved into intelligent living entities, discovered new things, and developed methods to innovate with natural resources.
Now, humans compete with themselves to acquire more resources.
Most humans want to acquire more resources than they need.
Fair competition is okay, but greed has grown so great that some humans don't abide by the rules and laws and commit crimes to acquire more resources and wealth.
We don't have to sacrifice ethics and integrity.
We humans need earnings to maintain our daily livelihoods.
We can work hard to raise our economic living standards.
That doesn't mean we have to earn by compromising on ethics and integrity.
Where is the need to sacrifice ethics and integrity?
Living a decent life while fulfilling all mental and physical needs should be enough.
A recent murder of an on-duty doctor in a Kolkata hospital.
Recently, there was a rape-and-murder of an on-duty lady doctor inside a government hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal.
The doctor might have known about some misdeeds and corruption of the hospital administration. She was tortured and murdered while she was taking some rest after a hectic 36-hour nonstop duty.
The hospital authority and police first tried to cover up the incident as a suicide.
After the demands of her parents and her colleague doctors, the authority arranged for a postmortem.
The police hurriedly took the dead body to the crematorium and burnt it.
The state government has been trying to hide the culprits.
After hearing an appeal from the victim's parents, the Kolkata High Court directed the state police to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). It will be a court-monitored investigation.
The Indian young doctor fraternity has been staging protests in almost all government medical colleges and hospitals.
What can the general public or civil society do?
Doctors from around Indian medical colleges and hospitals have already staged protests throughout India.
They will be in the protest mode until they get justice for the victim.

And they are doing it.
Let us speak out against the evils.
